Our Biosafety-service is the answer to a restaurant’s pest control needs

Seeing flies swarming around your plate would ruin anyone’s dining experience. Yet, we are not really surprised when seeing a few here and there, especially during our backyard BBQs. That right there is the main difference between picnicking at home and having lunch in a restaurant or a café; we hold businesses to a higher standard in hygiene, and to an extent so does the law.

Oiva-report is a useful tool amongst others

oivahymy.fi, coordinated by the Finnish Food Authority, is a well-known service of standardized reporting on the businesses hygiene. It uses smiley-faces to evaluate the businesses space and actions.

Oiva-reports are valuable to showcase, when a restaurant has been able to achieve the highest ratings. On the other hand, when receiving a lower score, facing the reality or the authorities view of the business’ current state might feel overwhelming or difficult. As a business owner or entrepeneur you try to do your best, so how can you ensure for it to show through?

Pest control efforts and results show up in Oiva in the section 3.5. Reports in Oiva try to be quite standardized, but there is some room for the authority’s opinion and viewpoint. In that sense, neglected pest control efforts might show up a bit “here and there” throughout the report. Then again, good procedures in hygiene upkeep and decent pest control efforts also might shine through in several sections of the report.
